Green Action of the Month

Step out for the Walk Against Warming

If you’ve ever replaced an old light globe with an energy efficient one, taken public transport instead of driving, switched to Green Power, or worried about the kind of world you’re going to leave to your kids, then the 2009 Walk Against Warming is for you!

Water campaigners get together

Improving river health across the country

As campaigners, we get used to being the only person in the room who is sticking up for the environment. Imagine how exciting and what a pleasure it is when we get together as a group of like-minded people who share a common goal of protecting and restoring our environment.

Fighting the good fight against coal

Cracks appear in coal industry’s expansion plans

Well it’s been a pretty crazy past three weeks on the climate campaign trail. While globally climate negotiations in the lead up to the Copenhagen climate meeting in December are struggling, in Victoria we have been deluged with news stories about state government and business proposals to massively expand our coal industry.

The news stories have followed some brilliant investigative journalism by The Age newspaper.

A big win on e-waste

Tell Jennings what you think

The federal government have announced today that they will introduce a national recycling scheme for televisions and computers.

This follows a long running campaign by Environment Victoria and other green groups calling on government to deal with the growing problem of e-waste.

The details of the recycling scheme are still to be finalised, and we’ll need to keep an eye on this.

Green Action of the Month

Dust off those old gadgets and get recycling

We know you’re an eager recycler but have you ever wondered what happens to those much-loved items, TVs or computers we leave lying around the house, in the bin or on the nature strip?
