Please take strong action for our future in Copenhagen
Sign our petition and help us tell Kevin Rudd that we want Australia to go to the international climate meeting in Copenhagen prepared to do what the science tells us is necessary.
Dear Prime Minister Rudd,
I'm worried about the impact that climate change will have on the future of our families. I want Australia to be a leader on climate change - and I believe that we need a much stronger response to the climate crisis if we're to achieve this.
The world's best climate scientists tell us that there is already too much greenhouse pollution in the atmosphere, and that we need to get back to levels of less than 350 parts per million (ppm) as soon as possible. Over 40 countries around the world have already signed up to this target.
I know this will be hard to do, but I believe it's imperative and I'm willing to do my part.
I'm calling on the Australian Government to go to December's global climate meeting in Copenhagen committed to take sweeping action to make deep cuts in our greenhouse pollution, help us to live more sustainably, and to begin the transition towards a clean energy future.
Signed
