There is ample evidence as to the potential for jobs growth based on a step change in the efficiency of our energy use in Australia. There is also evidence that a co-ordinated, strategic policy package is needed to unlock this economic potential and achieve the associated greenhouse emissions reductions. This presentation will argue that while there are good examples to demonstrate the way forward, we are far from realising the suite of policy settings, or the fundamental strategic framework required in Australia.
