A climate change checklist for the state government’s Transport Plan
November 2008
The Victorian Government is poised to release its ‘comprehensive transport plan’ for Melbourne in the coming days.
The government’s plan will outline their transport priorities and investment for future decades, and will determine how well Melbourne’s transport system will be able to cope with the city’s challenges of climate change, increasing population levels, congestion and rising petrol prices.
Environment Victoria believes that it is critical that the government uses this plan to make a serious commitment to reducing Victoria’s greenhouse gas emissions from transport.
