What we’re asking our politicians to commit to on climate change
This election year, we’re calling on our federal politicians to face up to their responsibility on climate change. Millions of Victorians are already taking action to save energy and cut their greenhouse pollution. We’re doing our bit. It’s time that the government did theirs.
We’ll be reminding our leaders that the community wants them to Walk with the People. Not the Big Polluters.
At this year’s Walk Against Warming we’re calling on all parties to commit to:
- Make the polluters pay by putting a price on carbon
- Replace our most pollution power stations like Hazelwood with clean energy
- Create new clean energy jobs and industries
- Guarantee to cut pollution over the next term of government
- Support poor and vulnerable countries to tackle the impacts of climate change and invest in sustainable development.
See the flyer that we've been letterboxing
These key policy asks will form the foundation of our message that we’ll share with up to 300,000 influential voters in key areas across Victoria, and hundreds of thousands more across the country. All Walk Against Warming events in all states have joined together on these key asks to make sure that our political leaders hear the call loud and clear.
